This writer is playing with creative tension between two words that are similar but not the same thing.   The word "tension" does not refer to anxiety here, but to the Latin meaning, tension, meaning "stretched," a reaching for ways to reconcile opposites.  This play helps you to encounter surprise and new ways of seeing or using your language.       I don't want just a taste of life's 31 flavors.  I look at them all and long to savor every one.  No quick instant of enjoyment for me.  I want to relish it all.  I want to contemplate each flavor, each texture, each new sensation of life.  I can't tell in one fast gulp what pleases me.  So fill my bowl, heap it high to the top--and let me thrill in my gluttony!
